This is exciting, you are moving out and flatting with three friends. This is a very big step! As a group you have decided that you can spend $180 for a week’s worth of groceries.

Then you will need to price eight items on your shopping list. After this you will choose how many of each item you need. Keep in mind you are buying for four people and you need to stay as close to your budget as possible.

After watching a documentary, you and your flatmate have decided to not eat meat for the week. After making a new shopping list you have decided that you can spend $90.

Go to shop.countdown.co.nz and research these eight items from your shopping list and enter the price below. The other 24 items on your list have been priced for you.

Select for each item how many you think you need for the week.

Make sure you check your total after you are done by using the 'calculate' button at the top of the screen. If you have budget remaining, you may want to add a few more items. If you don’t have enough budget you will need to remove a few items. Always use the calculate button to check your total spend. When you are done, click 'next' at the bottom of the page to check your items.
